NGV Art Party '16 - Whoo!

It's backkkk and bigger than ever! Yep, you've heard the rumours, NGV's Teen Art Party is back for a second time on Thursday the 7th of April from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Last year's was super fun and you can check out my post here!

For those who are wondering what the heck this groovy event is about, well look no further! It's a fab night full of art, music, dancing and creativity youngsters under 18 (don't forget your student IDs!!) like yourself. There will be drop-by workshops run by artists and exclusive after-hours access to the Andy Warhol x Ai Wei Wei exhibition. Sigh, I know. How good does that sound?! Tickets are cheap as chips and only $13 but book now as they are selling quick!

I've had a squiz at the exhibition and it is ah-mazing. I don't want to give too much of it away so here's a quick preview. Just cause I'm so nice like that.

I'm only giving you a little taster because you have got to see it IRL. (Also, silly me accidentally lost half of the photos I took too...) But if that isn't enough for you, there's a whole scope of activities on the night.

Up first: Esther Olsson. At only 22 years of age she is an emerging artist who creates awesome art which is filled with joy and imagination. And lucky for us! She will be running cool workshops on the night!

Gee will be DJ'ing on the night and will provide a fun and free ranging soundtrack stemming from his refined taste influenced by class and underground sounds. He will also be working alongside Esther Olsson who will be producing new works to coincide with the party and to complement the Warhol x Wei Wei exhibition! How cool is that?!

Speaking of cool... Ella Thompson will be performing on the night! I have already fallen in love with her dreamy voice and her rich sounds of fluid melodies, ambient textures and raw performance energy. Too good.

To top it all off, Left Leg Studios will be showcasing their moves and performing as well! I know right? How great does this night sound?

It's gonna be super fun so make sure you book your tickets and come along. I hope to see some of you there and if you spot me, come and have a chat!

Until then,
Maggie xx

Drawn over Tumblr photos: Obsessing over a jumper with these words on it (hopefully I'll buy it today) and forever obsessing over Cole Sprouse. Love of my life. // 5. Inspiration via Tumblr as I've been loving plunging necklines. // 6. Above my bed featuring a triangle (??), some books, disposable cameras and pressed flowers in a photo frame. // 7. Absolute fave babe Yan Yan Chan from her blog. Number one girl crush. // 8. Scan of some of my things featuring a great postcard, a photo from a 90s Calvin Klein collection, scribbles on a sticky note, polaroid with my gal Sofia, a pressed flower and a ticket to NGV's Warhol x Weiwei exhibition. // 9. Hi friends! Long time no see hey?

It's been about forever since my last post and I could apologise but basically blame it on year 12. Since Feb 11 aka my last post, I've turned 17, had my formal, went to a free Gorman show and Zayn's new album came out which is obvs the most important thing.

So here's a new series I may introduce to the blog: Life Right Now. A collection of things I'm loving and my general musings and ponderings of life. Whatever comes out of my creativity-deprived mind really. I love sitting here right now: in my pajamas on a Saturday morning, putting this together. If I could have a Nothing Day I would spend it binge watching Nicholas Sparks movies and taking naps. I live for the wild life, obviously.

Well that's it for me for now. I will be back very soon with an exciting post about NGV's Teen Art Party, yay! In the meantime, you guys should check out the interview I did for Jess Happen Blog where I answer a few questions. Other than that, enjoy your Easter break!

Love you all so very much,
Mags xxx
